Precautions for removing mechanical seals for pumps

Mechanical seals for water pumps have stable and reliable performance. Long-term use of deep well pumps, fire pumps and submersible pumps require regular maintenance and repair. If mechanical seal failures are found, they should be dealt with in time. If the failures are serious and cannot be directly repaired, they need to be disassembled and repaired. What are the precautions for seal removal? Professional water pump manufacturers remind everyone that before we disassemble the mechanical seal, we must first think about the following points:

1. Where is the main leak?

2. Is there any debris on the external parts?

3. Is there any eccentricity in the shaft or rotating sealing part observed?

4. Are there vibrations/noises related to the system (such as cavitation, joint misalignment)?

5. Is there local heat generation in the "pump" or seal?

6. Is the leak intermittent under different conditions, such as at different temperatures?

7. What kind of leak, jet, droplet, water flow or flow into the pipe?

8. Does the bearing have axial clearance?

9. If it is a double end face seal, check if the supply of spacer fluid is intact.

10. The relative position of the seal on the shaft?
